Baba B-Ball is an independent youth basketball training program run by Semi (17) and Dara (13) Opadele. We teach kids ages 5–12. We are not a registered business or corporation — just two teenagers who love basketball and want to share it with younger kids. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you sign your child up for our classes.

2. Information We Collect

When you book a session, we collect:

• Parent/guardian: Name, email, phone number
• Child: Name, age, skill level, medical notes (e.g., allergies)
• Emergency contact: Name and phone number
• Waiver: Digital signature and IP address (for waiver record-keeping)

We only collect information that parents or guardians provide when signing up. We do not collect information directly from children.

3. How We Use Information

We use this information to:

• Manage bookings and session attendance
• Contact you about your child's sessions (confirmations, reminders, schedule changes)
• Keep waiver records for liability and safety
• Reach you or your emergency contact if needed during a session

4. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Because our classes are for kids under 13, we follow COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) principles:

• We do not collect personal information directly from children
• All information is provided by parents or guardians when they sign up
• Children do not have accounts — parents book and manage everything
• Parent consent is obtained via the waiver signature before any child participates

We send emails for booking confirmations, session reminders, and schedule changes. You can unsubscribe or ask us to stop contacting you at any time by replying to our emails or contacting us through the website.

8. Photo/Video

Our waiver includes an optional photo release. If you consent, we may use photos or videos of your child for Baba B-Ball promotional materials (e.g., website, social media). You can opt out by leaving the photo release checkbox unchecked when signing the waiver. We will not use your child's image if you opt out.

9. Data Deletion

You can request deletion of all data we hold about you and your child at any time. Contact us through the website, and we will delete your information within 30 days.

10. Security

We use reasonable security measures to protect your data. Our site is hosted on Bluehost, and sensitive credentials (e.g., database access) are stored outside the public web root. We are a small operation run by teenagers — we take privacy seriously but cannot guarantee the same level of security as a large company.

11. Third-Party Venues

We do not share your personal information with venue or facility owners. However, session locations are third-party facilities in Hyde Park, Chicago not owned or controlled by Baba B-Ball. These venues may have their own privacy policies and surveillance cameras. We are not responsible for data collection practices of any venue.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes are effective when posted on this page. We encourage you to check this page periodically. If we make significant changes, we will note the new "Last updated" date at the top.
