If you already have an outlet beside the bowl, I would not choose the battery version. The corded Dockstream 2 is the simpler buy. Cordless is for a hallway or bedroom where a cord would be a hassle. If you never open the app, the Wi-Fi is just another feature you paid for and forgot about. That is fine. The fountain still runs from the wall.

A cord is only a nuisance if you have to walk over it. Park the bowl next to the outlet and this is the least fussy Dockstream on the page.
