Tuna salad melts grilled on thick slices of garlic herb sourdough with cheddar or Swiss.

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine tuna, mayo, mustard, onion, celery, pickles, lemon juice, salt, and pepper until cohesive but still chunky.

  2. Lightly butter one side of each sourdough slice.

  3. On the unbuttered side, layer cheese, a generous scoop of tuna salad, optional tomato or avocado, and another slice of cheese if desired. Close the sandwiches.

  4. Grill over medium heat, pressing lightly, until golden on both sides and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.

  5. Slice and serve hot.
