Glazed Cashew Green Beans
Blistered green beans in a sweet-savory soy and brown-sugar glaze with toasted cashews and garlic.
Instructions
-
Optional but recommended: blanch green beans in salted boiling water 2 to 3 minutes until bright green and slightly tender. Drain and rinse with cold water.
-
In a large skillet over medium heat, toast cashews 2 to 3 minutes until lightly golden. Remove and set aside.
Prep -
In the same skillet, add butter or oil. Add garlic and cook about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add green beans and sauté 3 to 5 minutes until tender and slightly blistered.
Cooking -
Add soy sauce, brown sugar, and water. Stir and let bubble 1 to 2 minutes until it thickens into a light glaze.
-
Add cashews back in and toss to coat. Drizzle with sesame oil if using. Taste and adjust salt and pepper.
Notes
- Let the glaze reduce slightly so it clings rather than pools.
- Optional: red pepper flakes, chili crisp, or a squeeze of lime at the end.
