The Bishop Shake is the signature order people still ask for by name. On the posted menu it is strawberries, pineapple, bananas, and nuts.

Local lore, preserved in Mormon Pioneer National Heritage Area press from 2004, ties the name to a Moroni LDS bishop who often ordered a pineapple, strawberry, and chocolate combination. The board version you will find today is its own classic: fruity, old-fashioned, and very Rodger's.

The restaurant board marks Est. 1954. The Dairy Freeze was built by the L.U. Mumford family and has had several owners, including Rodger and Jenni Johansen. A welcome panel also notes the Mumfords, Normans, Jensens, McKays, Thorntons, and Lees.

Start with the classics: the Old Fashioned, Zeke's, the Pattie Melt, Piccadilly Chips, and Tomato Mac. Dinner platters and pasta plates make it more than a shake stop.

For dessert, go Bishop Shake or pie in a shake. Soft serve cones, floats, and banana splits still round out the Sweet Endings board. The Turkey Club carries a US 89 mark for locally produced product.

Rodger's belongs to the everyday rhythm of Mt. Pleasant: Main Street traffic, after-school stops, and Highway 89 travelers who decide the diner is worth the pause. Boards, menu names, and that State and Main corner keep a piece of Sanpete food history in plain sight.
